Calle Portaferrissa is a favourite shopping street named for an iron gate in the Medieval city walls. Between this street and Plaza del Pi are over a hundred small shops in Galerias Malda, Barcelona's oldest shopping gallery. While built in the 1940's, incorporating part of a 17th century palace, the gallery reflects a turn-of-the-century Art Nouveau styling typical of old Barcelona. Here you will find shops dedicated to gloves, glassware, thimbles, handbags, rattan goods, baby clothes , lingerieand this is only one of three shopping galleries in this area. ".
